DIY Halloween Costumes with T-Shirts & HTV
Halloween doesn’t have to break the bank to be fun and creative! With just a simple t-shirt and a bit of heat transfer vinyl (HTV), you can whip up easy costumes that are cute, budget-friendly, and totally customizable. Here are some quick ideas to try this spooky season:
M&M’s Costume
Grab a brightly colored shirt (red, green, blue, yellow, or orange). Cut a large white “M” out of HTV and press it onto the front. Pair with jeans or leggings, and you’ve got yourself a sweet and simple group costume idea! Blank T-Shirts
Salt & Pepper
Perfect for couples or besties! Start with one white t-shirt and one black t-shirt. Add a bold “S” to the white shirt and a bold “P” to the black shirt using HTV. It’s instantly recognizable and super fun to make together. We used these Port and Company Shirts for our project with this soft HTV.
Pumpkin Tee
Nothing says Halloween like a classic pumpkin! Use metallic HTV to create a jack-o’-lantern face on a black or orange shirt. For extra flair, add green HTV leaves around the neckline or pair with a green hat. For our pumpkin tee, we used our WalaPress, metallic HTV and Bella Canvas T-Shirt Blank.
Why DIY with HTV?
- Budget-Friendly: No need for pricey store-bought costumes.
- Fast & Easy: Cut, press, and go!
- Personal Touch: Customize colors, fonts, and designs however you like.
This year, skip the costume store lines and make something unique with a little vinyl magic. Whether you’re heading to a party, trick-or-treating, or just handing out candy, these t-shirt HTV costumes are sure to impress! ?✨
