What is included in the VersiFlex decorating system?

  • The VersiFlex process is anchored in using the industry trusted and proven Sawgrass SG500 and Sawgrass SG1000 Printers. These printers are built to handle every user, from beginner to professional grade use. 
• Sawgrass Software
  • Sawgrass's state of the art software programs are built to work perfectly with VersiFlex. Whether you are a new or exisiting user of Sawgrass software, you can use the MySawgrass platform and Sawgrass Print Utility to create designs and print them with ease.

• Sawgrass VersiFlex Inks
  • Sawgrass has come out with a new and specific ink set for VersiFlex. This ink is compatible for use on a wide range of materials from natural fabrics, uncoated wood, and poly-coated products. These ink are tested rigourously by Sawgrass, and are Reach Compliant, RoHS Certified, and OEKO-TEX Certified.
• Sawgrass VersiFlex Papers
  • Sawgrass has also come out with new and specific heat transfer paper to be used with VersiFlex ink. This paper makes it possible to print and press on natural, uncoated products like fabrics and woods, TruePix for durable poly-coated products, and heat transfer vinyl for applying your designs to dark fabrics or smooth surfaces.

How does VersiFlex work?

VersiFlex creates a seamless decorating experience, no matter what you are making. You do not have to pre-treat or weed any material! With the VersiFlex decorating system is you can print it and press it, you can VersiFlex it.

1.  Print It

Using the SG500 or SG1000 printer with the VersiFlex ink set and VersiFlex heat transfer light paper you will print your design.

2. Press It

It is critical to press your design while it is still wet! Use the VersiFlex Heat Press Guide to ensure you press your design at the correct time, temperature, and pressure needed. 

3. VersiFlex It

Peel your paper off of your blank while it is still hot to reveal the magic of VersiFlex!

• Is VersiFlex a new decoating technology?
  • Yes! VersiFlex is a completely new technology, designed from the ground up to offer the best of multiple decorating methods—including DTF, DTG, sublimation, and HTV—while eliminating many of their limitations. The patented VersiFlex decorating system features unique formulations that enable printing on a wide range of materials, including natural fabrics, uncoated wood, and poly-coated blanks— all with one single, affordable system.

• Is the VersiFlex Ink Set a new Formula?
  • Yes. The VersiFlex Ink Set is specially-formulated ink set that includes specialty C, M and Y carts, along with an Expander cart that allows for optimal transfers across a range of unique papers and vinyl. 

• Do I need special paper for VersiFlex?
  • Yes. Our innovative method uses unique papers based on what you’re printing. For light-colored natural fabrics and uncoated products, our VersiFlex inks work with our VersiFlex Light Transfer Paper. For traditional hard and soft sublimation blanks, VersiFlex Inks work with our award-winning TruePix Sublimation Transfer Paper. For everything else, VersiFlex Inks are formulated to work with sublimation vinyl, allowing you to apply vibrant, long-lasting designs to almost anything.

• What kind of heat press is recommended for using VersiFlex?
  • VersiFlex works best with a heat press that allows you to manually adjust the pressure for optimal results.

• Can I convert my current Sawgrass Sublimation Printer to VersiFlex?
  • No. Due to the specialty formula, existing printers already utilizing Sublijet UHD, Chromablast or EasySubli inks will not be compatible with the new ink set.

• If I expand to a VersiFlex system, will I still be able to print and press on my sublimation products?
  • Yes. The VersiFlex Ink Set, when used with TruePix sublimation paper and the correct Sawgrass color profiles, will provide no significant color difference when compared to the Sublijet UHD inks.

• Will VersiFlex work with my exisiting MySawgrass and Sawgrass Print Utility accounts?
  • Yes. As the latest addition to the Sawgrass product suite, our programs are built to work perfectly with VersiFlex—no extra software required.

• How should I handle and remove VersiFlex paper during the transfer process?
  • Apply the VersiFlex paper to your item quickly while the ink is still wet, then press immediately. After pressing, remove the paper right away using a low, hot peel.

• What is the was fastness of VersiFlex?
  • With VersiFlex, you can expect a quality image up to 30 washes. All of Sawgrass wash fastness testing was conducted using a normal wash cycle and medium temperature for drying per ISO standard. For the best results all products should be washed using cold water and air drying.
